Melanie Mijares, President-Elect & Diversity Chair
Statement from Melanie and Andrew
Access, diversity, equity, and inclusion (ADEI) are central in our roles and duties as choral directors. We must consider ADEI when planning repertoire, considering concert attire, creating accessibility to performance opportunities, updating curricula, and more. We welcome conversations that reshape, re-vision, and recast our community in inclusive and welcoming ways for people of all identities. Please engage with us, challenge us, and hold us accountable as we continue our journey of creating a space that we can all call home. (Melanie and Andrew, December 2023)
